Progress Update

Firstly we would like to thank everyone who came to our fantastic Christmas Fayre at Ryton Village Hall a few weeks ago, it was a huge succcess and in addition to the Christmas buzz and presents bought, you raised over £1,300 for Friends of The Fox Funds - which is massively appreciated - THANK YOU!

Since then we have been waiting to hear whether we have been successful in our second attempt to secure funding from the Government's Community Ownership Fund. Unfortunately we found out this week that our application was turned down again, even though this time we had agreed a purchase price. Whilst very disappointing (there was only 1 venture in Shripshire that received a grant), we can apply again next year.

What next? The Steering Team will meet in early January to consider our options and then present them to a public meeting later in January to get guidance from the community. It is likely that to be succesful, we will need to show an increase in the amount and certainty of investment form the local community - though shares or loans. If you are in a position to make a substantial pledge or loan - please get in touch!
