on 31st March, 2025 we completed the purchase of The Fox and it is officially
your community pub!
Our Vision
After our much-loved 17th century public house closed in 2022, the local community has come together to form The Friends of The Fox with the aim to secure the future of The Fox and bring it back to life as a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable community hub. On 31st March 2025, after a long campaign, receipt of a substantial government grant, and investment from the community, The Fox was purchased and the renovation will start soon.
‘More than just a pub’: our vision is for The Fox at Ryton Community Pub to provide not only excellent, locally sourced food & drink, but also a Community Café and pop-up shop.
As a Community Benefit Society, The Fox is owned by the community, for the community.
